Allegations on Song Mino
Mino entered his service on March 24, 2023, as a public service worker at a welfare center in Seoul’s Mapo District. Prosecutors claim that while serving as a social service agent between March 2023 and December 2024, Mino was absent for 102 days without any valid justification.
According to The financial news, he is also accused of failing to report for duties regularly and neglecting his assigned tasks. Reports claim that when he did showed up, he allegedly spent significant time playing games or leaving early.
Song Mino’s Apology, Explained
His military service came under intense investigation following reports on April 10. Then on April 15, Song Mino released an official statement saying he regretted what happened and would cooperate with the investigation.
He followed that with a public apology on April 20 through his official social media accounts.
“I deeply regret my actions. I sincerely apologize for disappointing so many people.”
The apology came after the issue had already grown into a full-scale controversy. A report from Sedaily said he initially denied all the allegations during early police questioning. But later admitted to most of the charges after evidence, including CCTV footage, was presented.
Why The Case Is Getting So Much Attention
In Korea, military service is one of the most sensitive issues any male celebrity can face. So when a case like this involves a well-known idol, the reaction is immediate and intense.
Song Min Ho completed his discharge in December 2024, but the allegations surfaced afterward and eventually led to court proceedings. Authorities continue their investigation as of April 22 and haven’t announced a final ruling.
The court scheduled the next hearing for May 21.
