ADOR Drops Demand to 33 Billion KRW

ADOR first filed the lawsuit in December 2025. Specifically, they were seeking roughly 43 billion KRW in damages against Danielle, her family, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. The company alleges they were responsible for violations tied to Danielle’s exclusive contract, starting the big argument over her exit, and holding back the group’s schedules. The first preparatory hearing was held on March 26, 2026, at the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Agreement Division 31. Shortly after, the first formal hearing followed on May 14.
Why ADOR Quietly Lowers Its Lawsuit Demand
Now, legal watchers are closely looking at the NewJeans Danielle legal battle. They say ADOR’s new counsel appears to be recalculating the ADOR damages claim. They want to present a more realistic and fair number to the court, especially after being criticized for how they calculated their massive original penalty fees. Danielle’s team has argued against the company’s numbers. They say ADOR hasn’t shown enough proof to justify such a massive penalty fee.
Earlier this year, the Seoul court approved ADOR’s request to freeze real estate assets linked to Danielle’s mother and Min Hee-jin, reportedly worth around 7 billion KRW. That means they cannot sell or transfer those assets until the court decides if someone must pay damages.
But the legal fight got even more intense when ADOR’s lawyers suddenly quit right before important court dates in May and July. Danielle’s side called the move “malicious and intentional.” They argued it was merely a trick to delay an already exhausting lawsuit. ADOR later appointed a new legal team to continue the case.
Min Hee-jin’s lawsuit has only made things more tense. In addition, there is a lot of anger over ADOR’s moves. Some observers suggest that this multi-million dollar lawsuit may place undue pressure on a young artist and her family. As of early June 2026, no final ruling has been issued. The second hearing will take place on June 11, 2026.
Did ADOR Release Any Statement
“A new legal representative was appointed and reviewed the case, restructuring the claims and partially adjusting the amount sought,” said an ADOR spokesperson. We will continue to develop our arguments and evidence as the lawsuit progresses.” ADOR sued Danielle and Min in December 2025 over NewJeans leaving the agency. They stated legal action was necessary because the departure delayed the group’s comeback.
The conflict began when NewJeans demanded that ADOR bring back Min, their former CEO, who was removed during a dispute with HYBE. After the agency refused, the group held a surprise press conference in November 2024. They claimed ADOR broke their agreement and declared their contracts canceled so they could work on their own.
