The legal conflict for The Boyz has escalated. Just months after the nine members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric won a court injunction in April 2026 to suspend their contracts with One Hundred Entertainment. The court has approved the agency’s request to freeze the assets of members Younghoon and Q. According to reports on July 16, the Seoul Eastern District Court approved One Hundred Label’s request to freeze Younghoon’s apartment in the Seongdong District. The claim for Younghoon is reportedly worth 513.62 million KRW, which is about $350,000 USD. The court also agreed to freeze property belonging to member Q on July 23, which One Hundred Label’s legal representative confirmed. He noted that this ruling is just the start of a much bigger lawsuit from the agency.
“It is true that Younghoon and Q’s properties have been provisionally seized. This provisional seizure is the starting point of our ₩8.80 billion KRW (about $5.97 million USD) main lawsuit against THE BOYZ members.”
The lawyer stated that the agency is tracking down property owned by the other members and plans to freeze their assets step-by-step. He added that the agency will strongly fight back against any objections from the members.
“We will actively respond to objections and seek victory in the main lawsuit to normalize the company’s management.”
He added that the agency plans to fight until it recovers every penny it is asking for. Locking down the property is just a temporary step to secure the assets while they pursue the case. On July 13, lawyers for the nine members reportedly filed an objection to fight the court’s asset freeze order.
What is the 8.8 Billion KRW Lawsuit?
The Boyz had only signed with One Hundred Label in December 2024. On February 10, 2026, nine members officially told the agency they were ending their contracts. The group pointed to a major contract violation and a total loss of trust. They accused One Hundred Label of not paying them for any work done after July 2025 and refusing to share clear financial records or basic contract papers when asked. In April 2026, they officially took the company to court by filing for a provisional court injunction to legally force the suspension of their exclusive contracts. The Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of the members, officially approving the injunction and confirming that their contracts were legally terminated. Member New chose to remain with the label, while the rest pursued separation.
When The Boyz initially signed with One Hundred Label, each member received a massive exclusive contract signing bonus, which was reportedly around 1.5 billion KRW per person. After the nine members won a court injunction in April 2026 to suspend their exclusive contracts due to disputes over unpaid settlements, One Hundred Label argued that the signing bonuses were advance payments tied to the duration of the agreement. Because the contracts ended early, the agency started preparing an 8.8 billion KRW lawsuit against all the members together to get back the unused parts of their signing bonuses.
The roughly ₩500 million KRW is the exact amount the agency is demanding from Younghoon. To make sure they can collect if they win, the court agreed to freeze Younghoon’s Seongdong District apartment and approved a similar order for member Q.
Other Legal Cases Between One Hundred Entertainment and THE BOYZ
The legal battle began in June 2025 when One Hundred Entertainment kicked out Haknyeon from THE BOYZ due to rumors that he had met a Japanese former adult film star. Following the scandal, One Hundred Label CEO Cha Ga Won canceled Haknyeon’s contract, stating that his actions severely damaged his reputation and made it impossible for him to keep working as an entertainer. According to reports from The Fact on the 23rd, the Seoul Central District Court rejected One Hundred Label’s request for about 8 billion won in damages against Ju Haknyeon.
On July 23, the lawyer of One Hundred Entertainment said that the company is a lawsuit against 9 members of THE BOYZ. The lawyer claimed that the company owns the trademark rights to “The Boyz” and hopes the members who left the agency will stop using the name.
