EVAN has officially started his solo career. On June 22 at 6 p.m. KST, the former ENHYPEN member released his first single album, alongside the striking Ride or Die MV. He is completely changing his style with his new track, ditching his usual sound to try out a wild rock and electronic vibe that fans never expected.

Barely three months after his March 10 departure from ENHYPEN, EVAN is back with his official solo debut. At the time, Belift Lab said the members had discussed their futures and pointed to EVAN’s “distinct musical vision” as the reason for the split, with the group moving forward as six. EVAN later said this next step was about finding his “true self” through music. He decided to start a solo career to make his own kind of music and try something new. By creating his own songs, he wanted to discover who he truly is and make music that gives people hope and comfort.
The digital single album has two songs: “Ride or Die” and “Overflow.” This title track is all about starting a brand-new chapter. It’s loud, heavy, and clearly designed to show everyone exactly who he is now.
Fans Are Split Over His New Era
Some have celebrated the former Heeseung solo launch as the artistic freedom they had been waiting for.

However, not all reactions have been positive. A huge part of the fandom hates the new track, calling it pure noise. They feel this loud new style completely abandons the melodies that made them fans in the first place.

There has also been criticism of how his solo activities were handled, including complaints about inadequate security and a lack of translator support at events.
EVAN is set to perform at the Busan One Asia Festival later this month, followed by KCON LA 2026 on August 16. Those appearances should give the clearest picture yet of how this new chapter will land with both Korean and global fans.
