Evan is now officially working on his solo career. On May 11, Belift Lab confirmed that the artist is preparing new music for June, marking his first major move since his March 2026 departure from ENHYPEN. Evan shared a teaser for his first single, “Ride or Die,” which will be released on June 22.

“Ride or Die”: His First Move as a Solo Artist

He released the teaser of his music video on June 10. There has been a lot of attention to Evan’s solo debut since Belift Lab said he left ENHYPEN due to musical differences. According to the agency, it became clear during group discussions that his musical goals were different from the group’s direction.

Then came the rebrand. On April 8, Belift Lab announced that Heeseung would now be promoted under his childhood English name Evan. He opened his official Instagram account on April 8. The company stated that this name shows a different side of him and represents what his music is really about.

But his quick departure from ENHYPEN has not gone unnoticed. Fans have mixed feelings; some are excited about his new beginning at the same company. Others have questioned his debut strategy from the very start. Fans have been arguing over the title “Ride or Die.” Fans think it might refer to songs he worked on while in the group. Once the title was shared online, fans started posting about how Belift Lab mishandled both his exit from the group and his new solo launch.

“We are preparing for the release of a new song with the goal of June,” Belift Lab previously stated when confirming his solo plans.

After releasing Ride or Die, Evan is set to appear at the 2026 Busan One Asia Festival on June 28 and KCON LA 2026 on August 16. Those stages will serve as the venue for his first major festival performances as a solo artist.
