A recent Instagram photo posted by BLACKPINK’s Jennie has started a massive online argument after a mirror selfie she shared went viral for an unexpected reason.
The photo spread fast across X, Reddit, and Korean online communities, where netizens began accusing the idol of editing the image. People accused Jennie of editing the photo because they noticed Jennie’s mirror reflection didn’t line up with her actual pose.

Why Jennie’s mirror selfie is called “failed Photoshop”
People online started zooming in on Jennie’s reflection to point out mistakes. Some said her reflected pose didn’t match the selfie; others thought her face shape looked different in the mirror.
This was enough to turn a simple photo into another K-pop photoshop scandal. Many posts mocked the selfie as a “failed Photoshop” job, saying Jennie was “caught” by her own mirror.
Blinks defend Jennie amid the backlash
But fans quickly fought back. As the accusations spread, her fans flooded social media to defend her. They argued that the weird details were just caused by the angle of the mirror, how her photo was taken, the lighting, or natural mirror distortion.
They said people were overanalyzing a simple selfie just to create drama out of normal visual differences. Some even shared their own mirror photos to prove how reflections can naturally make faces and hair look strange without any editing.

Her label has already warned against false and defamatory posts
The controversy arose during a period of intense attention to Jennie’s social media presence in 2026. Around the same period, OA Entertainment, also known as ODD ATELIER, said it would pursue legal action against accounts spreading false information, malicious slander, and defamatory content targeting the BLACKPINK star.
Still, the warning from Jennie’s agency made the drama feel more serious. The company said it was watching online platforms and gathering evidence. Fans believe it was a direct response to the growing number of rumors about her.
