The Seoul Central District Court has approved a provisional asset freeze tied to ADOR’s ongoing legal fight with Danielle, adding another explosive turn to one of K-pop’s biggest agency disputes right now.

According to local reporting and court documents cited in coverage of the case, the court froze 2 billion won in assets linked to Danielle’s mother and 5 billion won tied to Min Hee-jin. Together, that’s 7 billion won that cannot be easily sold or transferred while the lawsuit is moving forward.
What Happened In The Hearing
Danielle’s lawyers went on the attack, accusing ADOR of using the legal system to freeze her out of the entertainment industry during the prime of her career. They strongly criticized ADOR for suddenly switching from a top-tier law firm (Kim & Chang) to a new one (Rihan Law Firm) four months into the lawsuit and then immediately asking to delay the hearing at the last minute.
The defense argued that ADOR targeted Danielle among all the other NewJeans members with a massive lawsuit just for revenge. They claimed ADOR did this to warn the other members (Hanni, Haerin, Hyein, and Minji) by showing them the harsh financial cost of going against the label.
They pointed out that ADOR completely missed the court deadline to hand over their evidence plan. Because of this, they argued that ADOR filed a multi-billion won lawsuit without even having their proof ready. Danielle’s team insisted that ADOR is just trying to stall, so they asked the court to split her trial from Min Hee-jin’s so Danielle can resolve her case quickly and get back to her career. Min’s team strongly agreed, saying the long lawsuit is disrupting and ruining their lives.
ADOR Slams “Stalling” Claims
ADOR’s lawyer fought back, arguing that a proper trial takes time and shouldn’t be rushed just because the defense demands it. They insisted that ADOR also wants a quick decision on its legal rights. ADOR apologized to the court for handing their evidence plan late, explaining that it happened because of practical challenges and the time their new legal team (Rihan) needed to review a massive, complicated case.
ADOR stood firmly by their main accusation, blaming Danielle for major contract violations. They also accused her family and Min Hee-jin of working together to harm the company. ADOR claims that these defendants actively planned NewJeans’ sudden push to end their contracts in late 2024, which caused massive business damage and put a stop to the group’s activities.
What the Danielle asset freeze means
This isn’t a final decision on who owes money. It is just a temporary safety measure to make sure money is available if ADOR wins the case later. The main lawsuit seeks damages and enforces the contract. The asset freeze actually targets Min Hee-jin and Danielle’s mother, not Danielle herself.
This is an important point. The main reason fans are so angry is that it affected family property.
How the Case Went Too Far
The conflict had been building since mid 2025, when disputes over contract terms and management rights began surfacing. By late 2025, Danielle’s mother was reportedly involved as a representative, and things only got worse from there.
In early 2026, ADOR filed suit against Danielle and her side, seeking damages and enforcement of the contract. In March, the court approved the asset freezes now drawing so much attention. Then, on May 14, Danielle’s contract with ADOR was officially terminated, marking a full collapse in negotiations.
ADOR also announced a legal team shake-up the same day, bringing in new attorneys as the case intensified.
