tripleS member YooYeon had a really awkward moment on Kai’s show that fans immediately clipped and shared all over the internet. YooYeon recently joined Kai as a guest on his ootb STUDIO show, where the duo headed to a university dental department. Kai asked YooYeon about her own dental history, and then she shared that she used to wear braces.
They were talking to students, and the conversation took a funny turn when students asked about teeth whitening. When the topic of teeth whitening came up, Kai was genuinely curious about the secret behind the flawlessly brilliant teeth of celebrities, so he asked Yooyeon about it, but she said that her teeth are not that white. Kai asked if any of her fellow members had blindingly white teeth. YooYeon took a moment to think about all of them before hilariously giving away their secrets, admitting, “They got veneers,” before quickly clarifying that her own teeth were completely natural.
Fans focused on YooYeon, and her reaction quickly went viral. She looked really nervous, as if she was trying to be careful not to say the wrong thing about a sensitive topic. K-pop fans immediately recognized her look of panic. Before she even answered, her face said, “Why did you ask me that?”
YooYeon has shown before that she gets uncomfortable when show hosts start asking personal questions. In a different recent clip, she looked visibly uncomfortable when Lee Yong Jin joked about smoking. Online reactions were mixed. Some viewers thought that the awkwardness was funny, and for a variety show, it was perfect.
