BTS is officially back in the American Music Awards conversation. The group is nominated for 3 categories at the 2026 AMAs, including the night’s biggest category, Artist of the Year.
The 2026 AMAs nominated BTS for Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer with ‘Swim,’ and Best Male K-Pop Artist. These nomination marks a strong showing, especially since Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and Bruno Mars pack this year’s Artist of the Year field.
The achievement comes only weeks after BTS returned with their fifth full-length album “ARIRANG” and its title track “Swim.” ARIRAN became the first Korean album to spend three straight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while “Swim” stayed in the Hot 100’s top five for three consecutive weeks and climbed all the way to No. 1.
A familiar Artist of the Year moment for BTS
In 2021, they became the first Asian act in the show’s history to win Artist of the Year. Which is a landmark moment for both the group and K-pop.
Now they’re in the race again, and this comeback era has already started to achieve sucess.
The 2026 AMAs will take place on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and air live on CBS and Paramount+.
