Park Gunwook Apology Over ZB1 Lottery Controversy

Park Gunwook from the K-pop group ZEROBASEONE has apologized after a massive argument broke out online regarding a fan-sign Polaroid lottery.

The issue began at a 2026 fan signing event, where attendees had a chance to win signed Polaroids through a random draw. Park Gunwook was the member reading out the winning numbers. But clips filmed by fans appeared to show a mismatch between the number he picked and the number he announced. In the video that spread the fastest, viewers believed he drew No. 9 but called out No. 10 instead, triggering immediate accusations of manipulation during the event.

On June 5, 2026, Park Gunwook addressed the situation directly through a fan communication platform. According to Korean media reports, he said he was sincerely reflecting on his actions and admitted fault over the fan-sign incident. He also apologized to fans, his ZEROBASEONE members, and staff, promising to be more careful and responsible going forward.

This is ZEROBASEONE’s Park Gunwook.

I am writing this post because I want to offer my sincere apology regarding my behavior at the recent fan signing event.

At the time, I should have judged and acted more carefully on-site, but I failed to do so. I take it very heavily that I caused great confusion and hurt to many people because of this. I sincerely apologize to those who experienced confusion and felt hurt due to my shortcomings.

Although I have always deeply cherished the heart and love that fans send me, I am truly sorry for failing to show an appearance that lives up to that affection. I will not take this incident lightly and will genuinely self-reflect.

I apologize once again for bringing disappointment to ZEROSE (the fandom), who have supported and trusted us throughout this album’s promotions together. Furthermore, I would like to express my apologies to my fellow ZEROBASEONE members and the staff who are working hard by our side.

Moving forward, I will act more carefully and reflect with all my heart to become a person who does not embarrass the trust sent by ZEROSE, and to grow from this.

Once again, I am truly sorry.

The intense backlash was understandable. Fan-sign entries often require fans to buy large numbers of albums, so many fans felt this was a major problem, not just a small accident. Fans cared so much because their money and trust were on the line. As the controversy spread, fans also started complaining about how he acted during the event.

One moment that drew extra heat showed Park Gunwook kicking aside a cone-shaped hat before leaving, which some fans called rude. As more fans shared their complaints and videos from the event, the ZB1 lottery controversy only got worse.
