ADOR Moved to Freeze Danielle’s Mom and MHJ’s Assets

The ADOR Danielle lawsuit escalated in January when ADOR asked the Seoul Central District Court to freeze assets tied to Danielle Marsh, her mother, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. Based on the court filings, the company isn’t just pursuing damages over alleged contract violations. It also wants to secure assets before the main dispute is resolved.

ADOR’s legal strategy just got more aggressive

Court filings on April 29 confirm that ADOR secured a “provisional attachment” on property owned by Danielle’s mother and MHJ. This effectively “freezes” their real estate, preventing them from selling it or using it as collateral to raise funds while the $30M lawsuit is ongoing. These assets include apartments, villas, and even an office.

That move immediately changed the tone around the case. Fans online slammed the Min Hee-jin asset freeze request as excessive, especially when Danielle is already fighting ADOR over the validity of her exclusive contract. Still, the filings make clear ADOR’s uncompromising strategy, marking a significant escalation as the NewJeans legal battle keeps widening.

The Pressure on Danielle is Getting Heavier.

In March, MHJ submitted a 25.5 billion won settlement proposal to end the fight and lift the freeze. ADOR rejected it. And in April, Kim & Chang, which had been representing MHJ, withdrew from the case over reported conflicts about strategy.

In April, Danielle filed a separate suit challenging ADOR’s exclusivity clause as an unfair restraint of trade. Around the same time, speculation around Ooak Records rose, though there is still no official confirmation of any deal.

Why Danielle’s Position Looks Increasingly Isolated

  • Danielle is directly named in ADOR’s asset freeze petition and contract dispute.
  • Her mother and MHJ were also included in the January filing.
  • ADOR confirmed that Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein have returned to the label. Meanwhile, Minji remains in quiet negotiations, leaving Danielle as the only member “expelled” and locked in a high-stakes litigation battle.
  • On April 24, ADOR’s primary legal team, Kim & Chang, withdrew from Danielle’s case. Now, ADOR can justify further delays to “study the files,” effectively extending Danielle’s industry hiatus and leaving her legal team to fight a stationary war.
